Reviews
Once I walked in, I noticed the restaurant clean and inviting with music playing. The server was at the cashier, ready to take my order. Only waited 10 minutes for food to be ready. Oxtails were tender and flavoravle, cabbage was delicious, plantains could have been cooked longer for more of a char, and white rice was undercooked with hard pieces of rice with each bite. Chicken patty was flaky, crispy and full of flavor.
This place is really expensive. For oxtails, two beef Pattie’s and coco bread it was $37. The service was good. The oxtails needed salt and a bit more flavor. The beef patties were just ok and the coco bread was good. The plantains that came with it were tasty but the pigeon pea rice was under cooked, crunchy. It was all nicely presented but not very flavorful. I think I may find another Jamaican place; it’s too expensive to take the chance of it not being exceptional again.
I had the curry goat, and overall, it was decent, but for the price, there needs to be more goat, especially if bones are intentionally put in with it. (Not attached to meat just a bone 🤦🏽♂️)
The meat comes in the small section of the tray that the sides generally come in.
The texture of the goat was great! The taste was 4 out of 5.
The cabbage was bland.
The macaroni was decent.
Overall I would give it 3/5
Me and my wife stopped in looking for somewhere other than the standard places we frequent. I was pleasantly surprised. I had jerk snapper, the heat level wasn’t as intense as I would have liked but it was very delicious, the owner and lady were very nice and had an amazing customer service presence, the even let me try the rum punch! I will definitely be back for something else.
Goat curry was good, mild and great for kids. The cabbage side was well cooked and seasoned. Food is fairly priced and service quick. Ambiance was comfortable and there was soft music playing in the background. Restaurant is clean.
If you still going to Olive Garden for pasta. You need to upgrade your taste buds & try this Rasta Pasta with Shrimp dish. Your taste buds will not be disappointed & you can thank me later.
I walked in there for the first time & love lively music blasting in the restaurant, the clean environment, & great customer service. There was 3 other couples waiting for their order & guess what they ordered. The Rasta Pasta as well. This is the one y'all. Don't sleep on it.
I highly recommend it.
This place it a little gem! Very delicious. The jerk chicken had just the amount of right kick. The chicken falls right off the bone. The sauce mixed in with the Mac n cheese was next level too.
Very friendly staff I had my order taken with a smile, food came extremely fresh everything cooked perfectly. As an islander i can say this food has to be the best Jamaican food I’ve had in Houston. So good I ordered again for my father 10/10 all around amazing. will be returning as soon as possible!
